John is a proven leader in consumer technology and digital media with a career focused on building, scaling and running high-growth companies of all sizes, from initial seed through to late-stage operation. He possesses a deep understanding of creating innovative consumer experiences, building brands and leveraging new and emerging platforms.
John is an active investor, advisor and board member with many early-stage private companies, in areas ranging from new technology platforms and enterprise software, to digital health applications for diagnosing and treating cognitive conditions and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Prior to JAZZ, John held senior operating roles in a wide array of technology companies. Most recently he was the general manager of Disney Interactive, mobile and social games division, launching many chart-topping titles while handling the full operations for this high-growth business.
John has built and scaled several technology platforms including OnLive, the first cloud-based streaming games and media company, which was backed by AT&T and British Telecom, built an ecosystem of hundreds of content partners, and was subsequently acquired by Sony. Earlier in his career, he founded and ran Bitmo, a cloud-based platform for mobile messaging and application development, which he sold in 2002.
Additionally, John has been involved in several restructurings and turnarounds, including a key role in the re-launching of Activision, which went public in 1995 (ATVI), as well as the turnaround and sale of the leading European game publisher, Eidos in 2005.
John earned a degree in Engineering from Yale University.
